i don't know what planet he is inhabiting, but as a manufacturer i see no deflation. all the raw materials that i use are up in price.
at the supermarket, i see no foodstuff prices declining.
gasoline has gone back up after the saudi foolishness.
automobile prices are actually up, even though the dealers are offering financing deals that make it appear that those prices are declining. they aren't.
credit card finance charges haven't been declining. in metro houston, and other markets, resale home prices are still rising.
now, when all of the economy crashes, would you call that deflation? i would call it a recession. or worse.
