Iran Daily
A question has surfaced in Iran regarding USA's purported duplicity on the nuclear issue, that is, why can not Iran have nuclear technology when the USA has nuclear technology? I would like to provide you one American's perspective to that question.
The USA has a history of protecting sea lanes for US commerce and global trade, from President Jefferson about 1810 with the Barbary Coast, defeating pirates there, and continuing in earnest to President T.Rosevelt at war when he was bent on civilizing the world. This continued with President Wilson in WWI, President F.Rosevelt in WWII, President Truman in N.Korea, President Johnson in Vietnam, and Bush Sr in Iraq, President Clinton in Bosnia, and current President Bush Jr in Iraq. The list is more complete than these examples. As a result, the USA has an $8 trillion debt, but then, the Nazis, Imperial Japan, Stalin's Soviets, and the Sino-Communists, those majors posing threats to world peace and global trade, are history. Did the USA get its money's worth? Well, goods can be shipped around the world, these days, in relative peace, as USA carrier battle groups play world police protecting those free trade lanes. The Russians and Chinese are becoming good USA trading partners and friends, as did Germany and Japan. The USA tried to buy out the crazy guy in N. Korea, but globalized traders, Russia, China, Japan, and S.Korea are at least helping to contain the threat in N.Korea. Japan is now spending on missile defense in that region. Will Japan get its money's worth? Did the USA get its money's worth to build, maintain, and promote civilization and globalization? Do others eventually benefit from this civilization and globalization? I think so, as the poor third world populations increase their standards of living.
It has been the USA military might and diplomacy over the last century that has lead to a more peaceful world in which Iran can sell its oil. Sure, the USA has made diplomacy mistakes, but the screams of "death to America" are really getting old, like cheerleaders at a football game all ready lost. And now, the USA has new threat in the middle east, a nuclear Iran, posing to destabilize the middle east. The question of USA and Iran having the same power and responsibility goes to the maturity of the country. The USA has 225 years of democracy with many checks and balances to political power, whereas Iran has zero years, as the Mullahs in Iran do not have such checks and balances. With Iran saying that Israel should be wiped off the map, saying death to America, feeding the islamo-facist terrorist, feeding terrorizing Hesbala in Lebanon, feeding terrorizing Hamas in Palestine, feeding insurgents in Iraq, and misleading nuclear inspectors for years, Iran, as a theocratic quasi-democracy, has not matured enough socially to assume the responsibility of protecting nuclear materials from would be terrorists, nor mature enough and without necessity to be allowed to possess enriched nuclear materials, nor with sufficient justification for the possession of nuclear arms.
As it is, Iran has threaten Israel with extinction and has pursued a course of nuclearization, and the two are inherently incompatible in view of the world's propensity to civilize the world by civilized nation states such as Russia, China, Japan, Australia, Britain, Germany, France, USA, inter alia, of economically and politically connected set of countries, whether are not there are those defiant nations who first resist but then eventually join the march of human cultural evolution towards peaceful interactions. If Iran remains defiant, the UN or at least the USA will be forced into a naval and air blockade of Iran, in an oil for food blockade. Iran will initially resist, as the USA taps into its strategic reserves, and there would be $100 oil and a global economic recession, as Iran's economy falls to the ground. This assumes, of course, that Israel's Mr. Netenyahu is not elected in March 2006 and does not strike Iran in advance. With several USA carrier battle groups siting in the Persian gulf, it would be only a matter of time before Iran makes a second mistake and "inadvertantly" strikes USA military forces. Like the Vietnam Token Resolution, the USA would counter-strike, and take out Iranian missile batteries, above ground nuclear facilities, and below ground tunnel entrances. Then, to cease fire, Iran will have to negotiate a treaty which may include that Mullahs do not control the government, that women can vote, and that Iran pay for the cost of the USA blockade, all the while the Iranian economy is destroyed.
The hard-line controlling Mullahs of Iran will take the Iranian population down with them, unless a change of posture is quickly taken. The deal with Russia seems a good one. Iran should move away from terrorism supporting posture, and, work with the west and work with the Russians and Chinese who also don’t want war, so as to improve Iran's standard of living, rather than drive itself into the ground, in its present hostile manner. It would be a mistake to think the west would allow Iran possession of nuclear technology without adequate inspections, safeguards, and process limitations, especially in view of the hate of the west that radiates from Tehran. In stead of the hate speech directed towards the west, Iran should be cooperative with the west, and compliant to international concerns. While Iran may feel and is surrounded these days with pro-west anti-terrorism countries, Iran should understand that the USA will stand against international terrorism and nuclearization of Iran raising tensions in the middle east and posing threats to those pro-west anti-terrorism countries and trade in that region. The west will protect its global investment. The Jihadist mentality has kept the Islamic world for centuries from progressing civilly, notwithstanding the oil income. The oil income is the fuel towards building the nuclear facilities, yet it is that trade globalization that is now threaten by such facilities. Iran's oil income should not be used to defeat itself. Iran's oil income should be used to increase the prosperity in Iran without global confrontation. Like it or not, Iran is a member of the world, and its globalization, and enjoys the benefits of international trade. Iran must be responsible vis-à-vis these benefits, and negotiate with others and reach suitable arrangements to co-exist peacefully. Freedom to globally exploit oil market has its costs and comes with responsibility and civility. Iran has the freedom to sell oil on world markets, but has the responsibility to cooperate with the global community. Human cultural evolution has accelerated over the last 100 years, lead mostly by the west, and has resulted in a more peaceful world and globalized trading partners. Iran is like a tree standing alone in the sand with a big wind blowing, and Iran must decide to either bend or break. So there is the choice. The controlling Mullahs need to understand that nether they nor Iran can stop the 5000 year global progress of human cultural evolution.
The answer to the question poised is that adults (USA) do not let children (Iran) to play with guns, for very good reasons, even though some children believe they can operated and possess guns safely, and some actually do. Likewise, the world community will not allow a hostile theocratic Iran to have nuclear processing capabilities without sufficient safeguards, inspections, and process limitations, so that, hostile theocratic Iran does not obtain nuclear materials that could possibly be used to further its hostile rhetoric, conduct, and associations. I pray Iran will negotiate suitable arrangements with the west and avoid the pending titanic collision, which Iran will certainly lose at great costs, and hopefully, after several decades of peaceful and cooperative civility, Iran will have matured as a fully transparent democracy, without confrontational theocratic control, but with checks and balances, with free and fair elections, with all having the right to vote, when Iran would then be trusted by all as a good friend and good global trading partner. I pray the USA and Iran will become good friends and trading partners. God Willing

President Bush, some Reflection on Iran
India has a history of free speech, and an ability to control extreme to some extent, that is, will sit on the crazies to a large extent, to maintain order. Isolated acts of terror will be with us for decades, I am afraid.
The Bomb, well at least Pakistan and India are somewhat non-hostile towards teach other, but Death to America or Wipe Israel of the Map, coupled with the BOMB, is to simply literal, to hope, we can all just get along.
Scary world out there. I am hiding in the garage, being very brave on the blog. In the cold war, we drew a stalemate in Korea, a loss in Vietnam, but in the end, we prevailed. Dont dismiss the loss in Vietnam as not be at least noble in principle, though flawed in tactical execution.
As to Iran, there will be no invasion where the 18yo are in mass engaged, but I see a high tech war of success. The military has come along way since the days of vietnam, and yes the losses in Iraq are regrettable, but in the scale of things, in relation, fairly small, considering, though 2000 dead and 17000 injured is difficult, for even a nation of 300,000,000.
Iran will blink, I hope, because, I dont think we really have a choice, as with N.Korea, the pressure must be on, but in N.Korea we have big brother China who wants US trade, and can keep Korea in check, Kim in N.Korea is not driven by religious fanaticism, but calculated power trips.
Iran is different. If those nuts can blow them selves up at the drop of a hat, well, you just cant let them have the bomb, and the Israelis wont stand for it, so something must be done, to wit, the stand off blockade until submission or a Gulf of Tonken like resolution, where we pound their facilities and missile batteries into oblivion, while putting the Iraq and Afghan forces on alert for the wave of crazies to follow.
Sick sh*t for sure, but just hoping, we can all get along, is unfortunately, the wrong move against this type of mentality. The bottom line: I am just hoping and praying, in the event of a blockade, that the Iraqi and Afghan national forces can provide a sufficient screen for US forces remaining, and sweep the zealot iranian hoards and their mercenaries from mass slaughter of US troops from suicide bombers coming out of Iran, and elsewhere as funded by Iran and Al Quieda operatives, just like we experienced in Iraq up to this point, but is now dropping off finally. The drop off of US casualties, implying Iraqi force stabilization, is what Bushie has been waiting for, before confronting Iran, the last significant nut to crack in the War on Terror flowing from the intolerant islamic world.

Terror at Ground Zero Friday , September 21, 2007 By Bill O'Reilly
Here's what I don't like about the Iranian government:
It is giving bombs to Iraqi terrorists and American soldiers are dying.
It funds Hezbollah, which started a war with Israel during which thousands of civilians were killed.
It is providing sanctuary to Al Qaeda big shots, including bin Laden's son.
It is a fascist state, where dissent is punished and women are denied many freedoms.
It is actively trying to destroy Israel.
It is actively trying to develop a nuclear weapon, which puts the world at risk.
Iran is the world's most dangerous nation. So when its President Ahmadinejad announced he was going to visit Ground Zero next Monday morning here in New York City, most Americans — including me — were appalled. And so was the NYPD. And it has denied Iran's request for security reasons.
Also today, FOX News correspondent Wendell Goler asked President Bush about it:
GEORGE W. BUSH, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES: The thoughts are that the local police will make the proper decision. And that if they decide for him not to go like it looks like they have, I can understand why they would not want somebody running in the country who's a state sponsor of terror down there at the site.
Now, there are people who believe that Ahmadinejad should be allowed to visit Ground Zero, because this would show the world that "America is the land of the free," a tolerant society. But "Talking Points" is tired of that. The America haters are not going to change their minds because some thug is allowed to do a dog-and-pony show at Ground Zero. This will be perceived as weakness or foolishness.
The cold truth is that Ahmadinejad is a terrorist himself. If Iran would stop funding killers, much of the killing would stop. The USA has been talking to Iran for months about calming the violence in Iraq and getting nowhere. Iran wants Iraq to be a cauldron of death.
Rudy Giuliani, Hillary Clinton, Mitt Romney and others have all said no to Ahmadinejad's visit. And the world needs to know how much of a villain this guy really is and how bad the government of Iran is.
On "The Radio Factor" today, I received just one call — one — disagreeing with my analysis. And that caller said I oppose Ahmadinejad because I am "a front for the Jews." Nice to know the mentality of Americans who are sympathetic to Iran. And that's the Memo.

Yesterday, a neighbor of mine, is an Iranian-Jew, the niceness man you would ever want to meet. This is not about race or global dominance (which I sure most in the cafe would assert), but rather, a necessary chilling out a source of global militency. THE CORE seeks to avoid pertabation shocks, like 9/11, and the ruling mullahs have to go. Its inevitable, the question remain only to the amount of pain sufficient.

I know you are liberal, and I am conservative. But let not the body politic separate us, in this day of celebration, for the voting success in Iraq. Surely, Iraq will stand up and the insurgency is doomed. In retrospect, it is now abundantly clear that you, sir, made the difficult decisions, and put your political career at stake, and put your brave British lives on the front lines, for the advancement of freedom, democracy, and world peace. Had it not been but for your courage in gardening coalition support and doing the right-honorable thing, of advancing freedom in the face weak-minded opposition, we Americans would have suffered, not the lost of a couple of thousands of USA soldiers, but a lost of tens of thousands of lives, and, we Americans would have been in an absolute hell hole, and alone while getting slaughtered, with no end in sight. It was your bravery that has directly lead to the relatively quick democratic success in Iraq. There is no doubt in my mind, you are a true hero. Seldom in generations is the world blessed with such a leader who rises above politics and does the noble deed at great personal sacrifice to liberate 50,000,000 souls from tyranny and oppression. I am ashamed the USA Congress has disgracefully let political divisiveness deny you the laurels you justly deserve, and have yet to give you personally, their thanks. So, in stead, please accept my thanks and gratitude, for your courageous good work. I hope that you will eventually be recognized and honored in your life time for the job well done. God bless you. I think back and I honestly can not think of any credible achievements by these three Dem presidencies, unless you think hostages in Iran or Cum shots in the whitehouse are great moments of the Dem party. FDR, Truman, Kenendy and Johnson were the old Dem party, and that is all gone. Since I last stood in this spot, a whole new generation of the Miller Family has been born: Four great grandchildren. Along with all the other members of our close-knit family, they are my and Shirley's most precious possessions. And I know that's how you feel about your family also. Like you, I think of their future, the promises and the perils they will face. Like you, I believe that the next four years will determine what kind of world they will grow up in. And like you, I ask which leader is it today that has the vision, the willpower and, yes, the backbone to best protect my family? The clear answer to that question has placed me in this hall with you tonight. For my family is more important than my party. There is but one man to whom I am willing to entrust their future and that man's name is George Bush.
In the summer of 1940, I was an eight-year-old boy living in a remote little Appalachian valley. Our country was not yet at war but even we children knew that there were some crazy men across the ocean who would kill us if they could. President Roosevelt, in his speech that summer, told America "all private plans, all private lives, have been in a sense repealed by an overriding public danger." In 1940 Wendell Wilkie was the Republican nominee. And there is no better example of someone repealing their "private plans" than this good man. He gave Roosevelt the critical support he needed for a peacetime draft, an unpopular idea at the time. And he made it clear that he would rather lose the election than make national security a partisan campaign issue. Shortly before Wilkie died he told a friend, that if he could write his own epitaph and had to choose between "here lies a president" or "here lies one who contributed to saving freedom", he would prefer the latter. Where are such statesmen today? Where is the bi-partisanship in this country when we need it most?
Now, while young Americans are dying in the sands of Iraq and the mountains of Afghanistan, our nation is being torn apart and made weaker because of the Democrat's manic obsession to bring down our Commander-in-Chief. What has happened to the party I've spent my life working in? I can remember when Democrats believed that it was the duty of America to fight for freedom over tyranny. It was Democratic President Harry Truman who pushed the Red Army out of Iran, who came to the aid of Greece when Communists threatened to overthrow it, who stared down the Soviet blockade of West Berlin by flying in supplies and saving the city. Time after time in our history, in the face of great danger, Democrats and Republicans worked together to ensure that freedom would not falter. But not today.
Motivated more by partisan politics than by national security, today's Democratic leaders see America as an occupier, not a liberator. And nothing makes this Marine madder than someone calling American troops occupiers rather than liberators. Tell that to the one-half of Europe that was freed because Franklin Roosevelt led an army of liberators, not occupiers. Tell that to the lower half of the Korean Peninsula that is free because Dwight Eisenhower commanded an army of liberators, not occupiers. Tell that to the half a billion men, women and children who are free today from the Baltics to the Crimea, from Poland to Siberia, because Ronald Reagan rebuilt a military of liberators, not occupiers. Never in the history of the world has any soldier sacrificed more for the freedom and liberty of total strangers than the American soldier. And, our soldiers don't just give freedom abroad, they preserve it for us here at home. For it has been said so truthfully that it is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us the freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the agitator, who has given us the freedom to protest. It is the soldier who salutes the flag, serves beneath the flag, whose coffin is draped by the flag who gives that protester the freedom to abuse and burn that flag. No one should dare to even think about being the Commander in Chief of this country if he doesn't believe with all his heart that our soldiers are liberators abroad and defenders of freedom at home. But don't waste your breath telling that to the leaders of my party today.
In their warped way of thinking America is the problem, not the solution. They don't believe there is any real danger in the world except that which America brings upon itself through our clumsy and misguided foreign policy. It is not their patriotism - it is their judgment that has been so sorely lacking. They claimed Carter's pacifism would lead to peace. They were wrong. They claimed Reagan's defense buildup would lead to war. They were wrong. And, no pair has been more wrong, more loudly, more often than the two Senators from Massachusetts, Ted Kennedy and John Kerry. Together, Kennedy/Kerry have opposed the very weapons system that won the Cold War and that is now winning the War on Terror.
Listing all the weapon systems that Senator Kerry tried his best to shut down sounds like an auctioneer selling off our national security but Americans need to know the facts. The B-1 bomber, that Senator Kerry opposed, dropped 40% of the bombs in the first six months of Operation Enduring Freedom. The B-2 bomber, that Senator Kerry opposed, delivered air strikes against the Taliban in Afghanistan and Hussein's command post in Iraq. The F-14A Tomcats, that Senator Kerry opposed, shot down Khadifi's Libyan MIGs over the Gulf of Sidra. The modernized F-14D, that Senator Kerry opposed, delivered missile strikes against Tora Bora. The Apache helicopter, that Senator Kerry opposed, took out those Republican Guard tanks in Kuwait in the Gulf War. The F-15 Eagles, that Senator Kerry opposed, flew cover over our Nation's Capital and this very city after 9/11. I could go on and on and on: Against the Patriot Missile that shot down Saddam Hussein's scud missiles over Israel, Against the Aegis air-defense cruiser, Against the Strategic Defense Initiative, Against the Trident missile, against, against, against. This is the man who wants to be the Commander in Chief of our U.S. Armed Forces? U.S. forces armed with what? Spitballs?
Twenty years of votes can tell you much more about a man than twenty weeks of campaign rhetoric. Campaign talk tells people who you want them to think you are. How you vote tells people who you really are deep inside. Senator Kerry has made it clear that he would use military force only if approved by the United Nations. Kerry would let Paris decide when America needs defending. I want Bush to decide. John Kerry, who says he doesn't like outsourcing, wants to outsource our national security. That's the most dangerous outsourcing of all. This politician wants to be leader of the free world. Free for how long? For more than twenty years, on every one of the great issues of freedom and security, John Kerry has been more wrong, more weak and more wobbly than any other national figure. As a war protestor, Kerry blamed our military. As a Senator, he voted to weaken our military. And nothing shows that more sadly and more clearly than his vote this year to deny protective armor for our troops in harms way, far-away.
George Bush understands that we need new strategies to meet new threats. John Kerry wants to re-fight yesterday's war. George Bush believes we have to fight today's war and be ready for tomorrow's challenges. George Bush is committed to providing the kind of forces it takes to root out terrorists. No matter what spider hole they may hide in or what rock they crawl under. George Bush wants to grab terrorists by the throat and not let them go to get a better grip. From John Kerry, they get a "yes-no-maybe" bowl of mush that can only encourage our enemies and confuse our friends. I first got to know George Bush when we served as governors together. I admire this man. I am moved by the respect he shows the First Lady, his unabashed love for his parents and his daughters, and the fact that he is unashamed of his belief that God is not indifferent to America. I can identify with someone who has lived that line in "Amazing Grace," "Was blind, but now I see," and I like the fact that he's the same man on Saturday night that he is on Sunday morning. He is not a slick talker but he is a straight shooter and, where I come from, deeds mean a lot more than words. I have knocked on the door of this man's soul and found someone home, a God-fearing man with a good heart and a spine of tempered steel. The man I trust to protect my most precious possession: my family. This election will change forever the course of history, and that's not any history. It's our family's history. The only question is how. The answer lies with each of us. And, like many generations before us, we've got some hard choosing to do. Right now the world just cannot afford an indecisive America. Fainthearted, self-indulgence will put at risk all we care about in this world. In this hour of danger our President has had the courage to stand up. And this Democrat is proud to stand up with him. I had to congratulate you all for fielding a great group of candidates. Foxnews debate plus Thompson, any one of whom will route Hillary.
Iraq has been a done deal, mentally I am targeting Iran, and hope powers that be are doing the same, because I dont know how the hell we going to get out of this financial crises, without a good war going on, this pot shot here and there in Iraq, just aint juicing the bunker-buster dow rally needed. "Giving up by granting amnesty is not the answer," the former Tennessee senator says in a 30-second spot that began airing statewide Wednesday in Iowa.
Illegal immigration has divided Republicans and remains a critical issue to GOP voters. This past summer, Arizona Sen. John McCain supported legislation that would have strengthened border security with provisions that would have provided a means for many illegal immigrants to become citizens. Top rivals Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani opposed the legislation.
The measure, backed by President Bush, failed in the Senate in June.
The Thompson ad takes place at a diner, with the candidate sitting at a counter.
He says amnesty is "unfair to those who have played by the rules and ignores the rule of law."
Last month, Thompson said the government should take away federal dollars from cities and states that don't report illegal immigrants.

As you know if you watch us on a regular basis, we are fair to Senator Clinton. We treat her the same way we treat all the other candidates, with a healthy dose of skepticism but an open mind. Looking back on my campaign analysis so far, I've been much tougher on John Edwards than Mrs. Clinton because I believe Mr. Edwards is a charlatan and his campaign of class warfare is foolish. Hillary Clinton is waging a conventional campaign. She has a strong machine, unlimited money, and the heavy odds are she will win the Democratic nomination. But her performance on illegal aliens getting driving credentials has been abysmal. After two weeks, two weeks she now says she would not give driver's licenses to people in the U.S. illegally. But why? Why would Hillary Clinton deny driver's licenses to illegal aliens? The senator will not say.
"Talking Points" went to a website. No mention of why no licenses. We contacted her press secretary Felipe Reines. He couldn't tell us why. We called Senator Clinton's main man Howard Wolfson. He would not take the call. The truth is nobody knows why Hillary Clinton doesn't want to give illegals driving privileges because she simply doesn't want to tell us. Doesn't want to define the issue. That's what bothers me about Senator Clinton. I can't figure out what she believes. Most politicians are shifty. Most change positions to get votes, but there comes a time when specific questions have to be answered.
Millions of Americans will vote for Hillary Clinton no matter what she says. And millions will vote against her no matter what she says. But for those of us who take an independent view, and we will decide the presidential election, the failure to address important issues in a clear way is a huge deficit.
I strongly believe Senator Clinton believes she can become president without ever having to reveal who she really is or what she really thinks. This illegal license deal reinforces my belief. And That's the Memo.

MUSHARRAF: THE TOLSTOY OF THE ZULUS November 14, 2007
If Republicans end up with a divided convention between Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani, I say we pick Gen. Pervez Musharraf.
Musharraf has declared emergency rule in Pakistan, shut down the media and sent Supreme Court justices home. What's not to like about a guy who orders policemen to beat up lawyers? I bet he has a good plan on illegal immigration, too.
The entire history of Pakistan is this: There are lots of crazy people living there, they have nuclear weapons, and any Pakistani leader who prevents the crazies from getting the nukes is George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison all rolled into one.
We didn't hear much about Musharraf -- save for B. Hussein Obama's threat to bomb Pakistan without informing Musharraf -- until the last few weeks.
Musharraf has been a crucial ally of ours since Sept. 12, 2001. His loyal friendship to the United States while governing a country that is loyal to al-Qaida might prove dispiriting to the terrorists. So, until recently, the media mostly confined stories about Musharraf to page A-18.
Now, with the surge in Iraq working, Democrats are completely demoralized. Al-Qaida was counting on them. (We know the surge in Iraq is working because it is no longer front page news.)
In a tape released in early September, Osama bin Laden bitterly complained, "You elected the Democratic Party for this purpose" -- of ending the war in Iraq –- "but the Democrats haven't made a move worth mentioning."
It isn't enough for the media to drop all mentions of the surge or to subsidize ads denouncing Gen. David Petraeus as "General Betray Us." (He is betraying liberals by winning the war for America, the enemy of liberals.) They need to stir up trouble for the U.S. someplace else in the world.
On Sept. 20, Osama bin Laden cued liberals by issuing another tape demanding Musharraf's ouster. The Democrats and the media quickly followed suit.
Weeks later, The New York Times editorial page called on "masses of Pakistanis" to participate in "peaceful demonstrations" against Musharraf, which would be like calling on masses of Pakistanis to engage in daily bathing (The New York Times editorial page being the most effective way to communicate with the Pakistani masses). Most of the editorial was a mash note to that troublesome woman Benazir Bhutto for demanding democracy in the land of the deranged.
Media darling Bhutto returned to Pakistan after fleeing the country following her conviction for corruption as prime minister. Her conviction was later overturned by the corrupt Pakistani Supreme Court, leaving me to ponder, which is worse: being convicted of corruption in a Pakistani court or being exonerated of corruption in a Pakistani court? She was again convicted in a Swiss court of money laundering.
The media adore Bhutto because she went to Harvard and Oxford, which I consider two more strikes against her. A degree from Harvard is prima facie evidence that she's on the side of the terrorists. I note that Bhutto demonstrates her own deep commitment to democracy by giving herself the title "chairperson for life" of the Pakistan Peoples Party.
Liberals hysterically opposed our imposing a democracy on Iraq and despise Nouri al-Maliki, the democratically elected leader of Iraq. Say, has Maliki ever been convicted in a Swiss court of money laundering?
Compared to Pakistan, imposing democracy in Iraq is like imposing democracy in Darien, Conn. But in Iraq, liberals prefer an anti-American dictator, like Saddam Hussein. Only in Pakistan do liberals yearn for pure democracy.
You wouldn't know it to read the headlines, but Musharraf has not staged a military coup. In fact, he was re-elected -- in a landslide -- just weeks ago under Pakistan's own parliamentary system.
But the Pakistani Supreme Court, like our own Supreme Court, believes it is above the president and refused to acknowledge Musharraf's election on the grounds that he is disqualified because he is still wearing a military uniform. That's when Musharraf sent them home.
Musharraf's election was certainly more legitimate than that of Syrian president Bashar Assad (with whom every leading Democrat has had a photo-op) or Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (adjunct professor at Columbia University) or Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez (loon).
Where were the headlines like this week's Economist's ("Time's up, Mr. Musharraf") about those lovable rogues? They hate America, so they can stay.
The last time liberals were this enthusiastic about popular rule in some Third World country was in 1979, when they were gushing about Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini in Iran. Professor Richard Falk of Princeton University assured liberals in a 1979 New York Times op-ed that the "depiction of Khomeini as fanatical, reactionary, and the bearer of crude prejudices seems certainly and happily false."
I'm no clock-watcher, but it's been 28 years; I don't think Falk is going to be issuing an apology.
Falk cheerfully concluded that the fanatical Muslim leaders in Iran "may yet provide us with a desperately needed model of humane government for a Third World country."
And just look at all the wonderful things Khomeini did for Iran!
How might popular rule turn out in Pakistan? As Saul Bellow rhetorically said of multiculturalism, "Who is the Tolstoy of the Zulus?"
Pakistan is a country where local Islamic courts order women to be raped as punishment for the crimes of their male relatives. Among the Islamists' bill of particulars against Musharraf is the fact that he has promoted the Women's Protection Bill, which would punish rape, rather than using it as a device for social control.
According to The Boston Globe, the most common form of homosexuality in Pakistan –- punishable by death –- is pederasty.
Pakistan doesn't need Adlai Stevenson right now. It needs Mustafa Kemal Ataturk to impose military rule and drag a country of Islamic savages into the 19th century, as Ataturk did in Turkey. Pakistan's Ataturk is Gen. Musharraf.
To try to force democracy on the differing "I hate America" factions in Pakistan at this stage would be worse than Jimmy Carter's abandonment of the Shah in 1979. It would result in what former assistant secretary of state Edward Djerejian called: "one man, one vote, one time."
The difference is: Instead of scimitars, this den of al-Qaida-supporting pederasts will have nukes.

I remember those days, way back then, well, I was in my mid 30s, in 1987, when Reagan was in Berlin. So, being slightly left-of-center is not a death sentence to being on the Republican ticket.
The VP job will be up for grabs, and sure, some presidential contenders may justly well deserve the perk, but lets use that perk wisely, for the SAKE OF AMERICA, and end decades of political divisiveness and ranker. Sure he may have to switch his affiliation temporarily to ride the republican tickets, and then switch back once the VP. That affiliation is really no problem.

And you can count on me, come November 08 when you sweep into office, because I never cut and run, I hang in until the very end, always, no matter what, as I am a pavement pounder with a gang of café righties, and we like you stand on principal, and when the time comes to take on the democrats, you can assuredly count on me and my gang at my favorite café to take on California and bring it home for you, because IM WITH FRED, as also are my bestest buddies there.
I hope you got the 1K$ check I mailed you last week, because, as you have indicated, I to hope it can buy one good TV ad in SC, because Fred, Im on your team, you know, the good guys, just now, as IM WITH FRED, and like you, we are counting on the good old boys there, whom Im sure will come through for us, when the time comes, to launch you into first place in national republican polling.
I see that in IA and NH you are not doing as well as hoped, but don’t loose heart, and stay at it, because Im counting you to hang tuff throughout, and really, what can any expect in an upper midwest state having a capital wherein a few extreme activists want to declare it a sanctuary city or a new england state where judges and the media think its ok that serial pedophiles should be out on probation enabled to repeat offend inbetween shrink visits, the poor poor sick things. So, the current showing there is to be expected, early on. But that will change when they all there get your strong message of home land security, world peace through strength, and sound moral values, that separates you from the pack.
And further still, Fred, if you don’t mind, I would like to give some words of wisdom, because Im here to help you as best I can, its my 2cts. I notice that you are a little behind Rudy in national polling and tied with Mitt and Mike. I believe that will change if you follow my suggestions. Don’t worry about Ron and Duncan, they got no chance, and are really just in it for the fun anyways. John is toast because he treasonously broke ranks and surrendered the southern border, so he is not even in play. But do remember, that in the end, we all good Republicans will join ranks, so, at a time of friendly fire, go light, but stay firm in your convictions as Im sure you will. Rudy and Mitt are your most formidable opponents, so lets target our friendly specifically only at them, and as far as the democrats are concerns, well, jabs at them are good anytime. So Rudy and Mitt are doing well just now in IA and NH. That will change soon, just go with me here.
Rudy is America's mayor, and you got to give him that, he stood tall when we needed him most, and NY is very close to NH, and, Rudy got the jump on us in IA, but NY cross-dressers are always weak on good moral social conservative values and will have problems eventually, so hang tuff. And Mitt, you know the guy gots a ton of doe and has been spreading it around pervasively, and what do you expect from a guy who's hair is always perfect and has a polished voice rivaling JFKs, as Im sure his hair dresser is making a fortune off Mitt's campaign contributions. Mitt knows how to spend the doe wisely. But Mitt will eventually have trouble too, his UT buddy just got nailed for two five-life-terms and Americans have already demonstrated they don’t like flip-floppers from fairykerryland. So, while Rudy is doing well and Mitt gots allot of doe, hang tuff, things will go our way.
Now, my good friend, I want to give some advise, for whatever you think its worth. I saw your ad here in California where you indicated that Amnesty is unfair to those who have lawfully waited in line to come to the land of the free and the brave, well at least in some parts of America. Right on, Fred, that is the killer issue in the 08 election, as Iraq is a done deal, and will prove the correct call to go ROMAN when absolutely necessary, as it was. As I have told early on to all of my bestest buddies at my favorite café, IT’S THE BORDER STUPID!!! And here, we got to shut down the border for many good reasons, so I would like to update your talking points memo with key points, and they are:
1) CRIMINAL ALIENS, get the parlance straight and drive it home into every American's home, so as to prevent the bankrupting the welfare state and spreading of slum lords and narco traffickers, and to prevent a repeat of WATTS in flames, when the welfare state is cut back in view of pending retiring baby boomers, as babyboomers expect checks when the time comes, and they dont want to be screwed by criminal aliens getting reduced in-state tuition and scholarships at the expense of out-of-state American college student citizens;
2) TERROR ATTACKS taking out 250,000 NYers and NYC by a dirty bomb, at a cost of 15T to rebuild after having to bull doze it down, the cost would not be worth it. I know that there is where are based the NY times employing a hoard of socialists, secular progressives, smear merchants, and, CNN that hires hit-men analysts, with biased news reporting asserting depraved opinions as facts. Ok, I know that one is a toss up, but the voters should not have to flip a coin on that one, we should protect NY even if filled with pacifist, panderers, and traitors;
3) PANDEMDIC FLU spreading to the shores of the good old USA, and taking out 700,000,000 world wide and 30,000,000 Americans. I know it could be selective, them germs can morph at any time, and that flu may just selectively takes out only registered Democrats, but don’t rely on that trade-off balancing act when it comes to national priorities, we republicans are American first and should protect even the democrats, even if they are cowards, panderers, and traitors;
4) VOTER FRAUD, the corner stone of the DNC power play, to prevent DNC card carrying criminal aliens from swinging the 08 elections to the cowards, panderers and traitors. Please Fred, get the parlance straight and update your talking points of the critical issue of the 08 election as your star ascends; and
5) RULE OF LAW, cut all federal funding to scantuary cities to prevent scantuary cities from violating federal laws, encouraging the violation of immigrantion laws, and attracting more criminal aliens giving rise to anarchy and a break down in civil authority teaching children that laws are made to be broken, and this might improve things in Iowa.
And Fred, if things don’t improve soon, and you have to go ROMAN on the political wresting mat, I also have some good words of advise, again, for whatever you think its worth. I was most impressed with your SC speech to the cadets there, suggesting we raise the military by some 750,000 soldiers. Right on Fred, at a time of war, we need to protect the folks, and with Iraq a done deal, your strong defense posture makes sense in view of the Iranian combination of missiles and nukes and world wide terrorists willing to slit our throats and terror bomb our infrastructure. You can ride the increasing favorable surge poll numbers into office, on that one. So, you inherently have the hat trick winning combination, the border, the war on terror, and of course your strong moral values. If you have to go ROMAN on the wresting mat, go BIG TIME, and here is how.
On the border issue, go ROMAN big time, and declare that if elected, you would put a brigade of national guards in each southern state on the southern border, immediately, and shut down the invading hoard of criminal aliens, narco traffickers, and infiltrating terrorists. This will rally the normal folks with any common sense.
On the Iranian issue, go ROMAN big time, and declare that if elected, you would blockade Iran and force full compliance of all IAEA requirements, and if not, take out all Iranian missile and nuke facilities. Trust me on this one, with Russia having trouble with a wet-bag and after their top general already indicated that Russia can not stop "US imperialism", and with China in a wet-dream looking forward to a grand Olympic show, and with Iran strategically isolated, thanks to Bush's grand plan leadership, it will be a cake walk. Of course HERO Bush may do the deed on Iran before the November election, but that would be great, and victory there would only rally more to your our side against the Democrats when the loyal Americans rally to your standard. Petrified parents out there on mainstreet are counting on US government protection, so there you rally home grown support.
On the moral social issue, go ROMAN big time, and declare that if elected, you would pack the court with hard-right conservative judges and again seek a constitutional amendment banning gay marriages. The US government does not have a vested interest in securing rights for a class of people who can not possibly ensure the next generation of moral tax-paying Americans. Government does have an interest in stopping late term licensed baby killers, as well and many folks are appauled at the slaughter of the next generation of American citizens. Normal folks out there in the heart land are sick of the drug fest gay-parades, pornography pumped into their livingrooms, and the teaching of learned decadent behavior temping to our school children who are trying to figure out this complex world of ours. Parents out there will love you for it, trust me on this one. I too don’t want my little boys raped on the way home from school.

Or that there were off the record calls to journalists from the White House accusing Monica Lewinsky of being a stalker? And what are the odds that the recent rumors about John Edwards came from Clinton operatives? That’s how the Clintons try to obliterate their opponents, with Hillary at the helm. As she runs for commander-in-chief of the United States, she’s already the commander of the Clinton secret police. The Clintons have no regard for the privacy of those who get in their way. Their clumsiness in bullying Linda Tripp cost the Department of Defense about $600,000 when she won her lawsuit for invasion of privacy after they arranged to illegally leak confidential information from her personnel file. I am teaching them agression, I dont want a couple of pussies like what you find in the Dem party, I WANT BULLS. I take them to the park, they play in the sand box, me laying on the grass in the warm sun listening to the breeze, then they go into attack mode, left and right pincers, and out of no where, dog pile with the monster body slams, roaring in attack mode, GO GO USA GO GO USA.

When having kids, wife wanted to wait a few years for the second one, but what is really best is to have 1 year apart, same sex, so that they have a playmate, life long pals, because one day you will kick it, and they may have only themselves. I take them to the beach often, they riding scooters, (at 18 months one boy rode on one foot down hill, guy has great coordination already) These bulls in 15 years WILL OWN my town, and hope understand that polygamy is wrong, that flowers and respect for the girls, who arnt HOs, is the best play.
Now kids are kids, (and just like MOVEON or CODE PRICK) will push the envelope, the outer permissible bound of acceptable conduct. Its natural, part of the learning process, so just go with it. Dont beat kids and teach them that violence is already the remedy, you can do better than that.
You only have to get tuff about once a year. For example, when one boy intentionally stepped on a baby bunny and broke its neck, he literally got hosed down by water, both got the treatment one time. You now have a suitable threat to control them, use it wisely, and play the jet-eyed mind tricks.
One boy bites and did so the other day, and started crying, he knew dad was comming, draged his tail into the garage office, locked the door, and the howl got louder, hes sh*tting his pants sort to speak, and I calmly sit, and say, let me know when your done crying, so I can bite you, the howl got louder, but came down, again, let me know when you stop crying, so I can bite you, the howl volume went up again, and after doing this, you say, well I guess you wont stop crying so papa wont bite you, and while still crying you drag him to the bitee and demand he repeat "Im sorry, I wont bite again", and there you have the apology for screwing up, and promise not to reoffend, and the jet-eyed pyscho punishment, THAT THEY WONT FORGET, and you did not have to BEAT THEM. In punishment, use the stick hard, but not actually physical beatings. You with me? Dont teach VIOLENCE as a first order method of disput resolution. This may keep them from committing murder in the out years.
Next we have decision making, teach your children HOW TO BE DECICIVE, to make decision for themselves, so that, they can do so as adult instead of blindly drinking coolaide and being led off to slaughter with pandering DEM broken promises and repeated failures. Build character and independent thinking. So the child is not doing as susposed to, ok, always offer them a choice, you can have cholocate or vanila icecream, WHICH DO YOU WANT, ok, you can not drink your milk or have a 15 minute time out, WHICH DO YOU WANT. Make them made decisions for the themselves, by the time they are about 14yo, forget it, parent loose control, and the kids will make decisions for the themselves, get them to understand that they make decisions and the CONSEQUENCES of those decisions, do it early, and this may keep them out of the jail.
Next, teach your kids they can become all THEY WANT TO BE, that there is the golden apple, all ya have to do is reach out and grab it, its right there, you can be president, you can fly to mars in a space ship, always, its their decisions, there are NO LIMITATIONS whatsoever. Minority folks, this goes for everyone, dont saddle your kids with expectations of failures, but rather with THE POSSIBILITIES right before them.
Last, teach your kids not only root thinks, ABCs Colors, etc, but teach them HOW TO THINK, and start early. Example, we're at the beach, boys build sand castles, but really, just a conical sand pile, and you say, great job (the confidence builder, always a good thing), but maybe it can be better, make it better, "i dont know how", o yes you do, here, take that cup, fill it with sand twice, and dump other making two GATE POSTS in from of the castle, this they realize and know yeah THE CASTLE in better, they had no clue but now do, they you say, ok, your turn, MAKE THE CASTEL BETTER, one made the pile higher 3yo, but the 4yo dug a front line defensive moot, ALL BY HIMSELVE. Make them think, test them into, and get thinking.
So parents here are my rules, for whatever its worth.
1) Dont beat the kids, use jet-eyed mindtricks for punuishment and negative feedback;
2) Make them Decide, treat them like adults having choices and consequences;
3) Do not limit them with poor expectations, but that, anything is possible if you try and really want it;
4) Teach them HOW to think, every thing is a puzzle, work the problem, come up with the better solutions, personally teach them how to read, spell, write, and calculate, (dont relies on baby-sitters at schools 1-3 grades, crack open the books and make sure they get early on the fundamentals), but most importantly TEACH THEM how to THINK;
5) Teach them HOW to respect the opposite sex, and respect GOD, and themselves, how to know GOOD moral behavior from sick decadent behavior, as the fagots, HOs, Sex predators, and athesists will lay down a trail of candy for them, to lead them into the devil's dens, so that they can pretent their live styles are acceptable. So teach them to respect themselves and others of sound morales, to be able to stand on their own, and you build sound moral character well suit to keep our country strong. When my wife is in Russia, and Iam here alone, her relatives there say, I must have a side gal, as that is there culture, but I told time time again, its not that I respect you so much, as is it, I respect myself much much more, and it me, my belief system that keeps me strong, so that, I am true to myself, and as such, you can rely on me to be that kinda of guy, deep down, you really really want. Bingo!!!
I hope this has been of some help to you younger parents. Kids are great, but only have one short child hood, dont blow it for them, and make it THE BEST IT CAN BE!!! with proper instructions, we need to breed men and women of strong moral character, not DEM party mice.

After going over to sis' for dinner, I manage to hit the casino for only 2 hours, I like craps and roulette, because of the huge multipliers, and its not the amount of win/losses by the percents. In Roulette, I only play positions each go so that if one number hits, all positions pay, for the HUGE banger multiplier. Others spread them out, but that quarrantees some positions will have be losers. If my number hits, its pays big, like 450:4. and yeah baby. I dont like betting where at least one position is a sure looser, it just dont make sense to me.
Last night, a young guy came sat next, and played the red/black, which I never do, just to slow a game. I guy puts up 25$, it hits, ok, double up, and it hits, "way to go", it hits 3rd running, now I betting color number after he picks, and bank 4th in row, i go "yeah baby, take their money", I love it people win, the house has the game rigged of course. This guys takes some profits, but still with the R/B 100$ bet, bang hit 5th, i go loud, (I just love vicarious fun, I will take fun away it comes), YEAH BABY, GO GO USA GO GO USA, he is smiling at me now, getting a kick out of it too, and bang, 6th, I go off, and bang 7th in a row, I go off, he lost on the 8th, packed it up and left, turning 25$ into 800$ before my eyes. THATS FUN!!!
On the craps shoot, I put up the customary line bet with odds for each point go, but then try the parlays, with HOP 1$ bets, so I am always hopping YELLING the call, "HOP 32) as I continuously throw out the 1$ bets, this yelling and throwing just pumps up the game for excitment, and when I hit the hopper, I parlay to the hardways, and now Im in-the-money looking for the BIG WIN, so, with a hop bet paying 15:1, each roll a nail bitter, and parlay to Hardways at 10:1, that is 150:1 on one buck, and when it hits, I go off, GO GO USA GO GO USA, its just simple fun for a couple hundred, dont usually win, most dont, but Im there to have simple fun. However, when the dealers do that me, I teach them a lesson, and go off, "NEVER ASK AN AMERICAN FOR A TIP", you ask and you get nothing, we americans know how to tip, and all you do is piss off us Americans by asking, its insulting and rude, (vegas dealers never ask, they dont have to), so dont do it again, at least to me, get the manager, I will educate you Russkies, on how to run a casino. Just when every poll has Hillary slipping, she has gotten a shot in the arm from a very unlikely source: President George W. Bush.
In an interview on Tuesday featuring the first couple and Charles Gibson, the president said of Mrs. Clinton "No question, there is no question that Sen. Clinton understands pressure better than any of the candidates, you know, in the race because she lived in the White House and sees it first — could see it first-hand."
By saying that she “understands the klieg lights,” Bush lent credence to Hillary’s campaign assertion that she could “hit the ground running” if she were elected president.
Would somebody please explain to us what Bush is doing, touting Hillary just as the rest of America is finally catching on to her artificial, evasive and contrived campaigning style?
This is not the first time Bush has rescued the Clintons. After they left the White House, both the former president and the new senator had low ratings in the polls. Beset by scandal — the White House gifts, the pardons-for-sale, the payments to Hillary’s brothers for pardons, the Hasidic vote-for-pardon scandal, and Bill’s nolo contender plea to obstructing justice — Bill and Hillary were sucking wind.
But, Bush swept in for the rescue, picking the former president off the ash heap of history and elevating him to parity with his father in a two-former-president effort to raise funds for the tsunami victims. By giving him a respected place alongside a former president of unquestioned integrity, Bush gave Clinton a tremendous way to climb out of disgrace and into the limelight.
Then, when the tsunami relief effort was winding down, he re-enlisted former president Clinton to work with his father again on helping the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Not only did Bush help the Clintons in positive ways, but he let his justice department drop the investigations of the pardons, the gifts, the payments to Hillary’s brothers and the Hasidic vote scandal with no prosecution or plea dealings.
Then Bush let Clinton off the hook another time when the former president’s former National Security Advisor Sandy Berger was caught smuggling classified documents relating to 9/11 and the war on terror out of the National Archives in his pockets and socks. The Bush Justice Department accepted a plea deal with Berger which did not require him to say what documents he had taken and why he had swiped them. As a result, we never knew what aspect of the Clinton record on terrorism Berger was so anxious to cover up.
All of this kid glove treatment of the former first couple led to jokes about how George W and Bill are the two children of President George H.W. Now the president is going easy on his putative sister-in-law, Hillary.
The fact is that Hillary has no idea what it is like to be president. Unlike Bill, she did not have to face the media daily and could keep them at arms length as she toured the world, acting like a tourist, in carefully contrived photo opportunities. When she was really involved in public policy — during the health reform debate — her insistence on the secrecy of the proceedings led to a federal court order and judgment against her.
Is President Bush deliberately helping Hillary to win the nomination because he feels she would be the easiest one of the Democrats to beat? If he is, he’s making a serious mistake. She is the only Democrat who can bring 10 million new single female voters out of the woodwork to sway the election.
Or, is it an ex-president thing? A kind of exclusive club of former chiefs who treat one another with kindness, civility and bend over backwards to show respect? Whether it is through political miscalculation or elitism that Bush caters to Hillary Clinton, he should stop it. Every day, she bashes him full time on the campaign trail. His kind words for her are so out of place, they are jarring.
President George W. Bush has done quite enough to aid the election of Hillary Clinton as the next president of the United States already, thank you. Without his generosity to Bill and his refusal to prosecute matters that could embarrass the Clintons, he bears a great deal of responsibility already for Hillary’s rise to front runner status in the Democratic primary.

Then I go to Putin and tell him, look ratchet up the price of oil, do the double dutch, for the good of the russian economy, and slam Bush as the war monger, so as to build pride in the russians, (they needed it), and you will be perceived as the PEACE MAKER on the world stage. HE TOOK THE BAIT.
And hence the setup where Bush is now the good christian, thanking Putin for mid-east conference support, where Bush looks a little better, and in so doing, maintains friendly relations, while Putin and Bush now play my game plan, Putin panders for domestic political support, and build the russian economy, THAT's his game plan, where I tell Bush chill out and stick to your guns, "when in command lead", and plays the FIRM STANCE on terror/Iran, but graciously thanks Putin, keeping friendly relations.

4. Death Penalty, GOT TO HAVE, could be only for specific intent serial killers, a middle position.
5. War, support a gradual withdraw from Iraq now that the surge in working, blockade Iran ONLY IF NECESSARY, but DO NOT UNDER any circumstances launch a strike at nuke/missile facilities, just keep the blockade in force until they heel and fully comply with IAEA.

In this regard, human natures drive the actions there, the invasions, the intrusions, into that hot bed of global militancy, and everywhere as mankind is of the same basic human natures everywhere, we are all human beings. Forces are arrayed against this global militancy, naturally so, because of the basic human natures. Even though most may not understand it fully, it seems very clear to me what is going on. Some, try to make sense of it all, but do not understand drivers, but rather only the results and affects, and some disparagingly call it the NWO (new world order) or whatever, because it does not fit their political or social objectives, biases and orientations. But, there is allot of truth in that characterization, NWO, though without a understand as to why it is naturally occuring and what will be the inevitable result. That is why, I created the TIME LINE, and projected it out, so that one may see where we are headed, long term, as best my clouded crystal ball can tell.

Back to the Global Confluence. Some times it occurs in big steps, (the fall of the berlin wall), other times in small and very subtle steps hard to recognize. We have had democracy protest in Berma of late, and also some demonstrations in Moscow, the steps keep on a coming, though, that the important thing.

WOW!!! Razputin's popularity rockets (which would be a great send off going out of office), and just go out and find some bodies, (prisons for examples), give them all a sign (having a the word "free" something in it, like free speech, and on the back something like WE LOVE RAZPUTIN), and drive them to some government building, get the minister of propaganda to have NEWS crews there for filming, and film them walking around in circles for a few hours. 1) The dems are in a first order retarted analysis with pandering MO for the power play. The Reps are in the second order (but still somewhat retarted) analysis, but much better for the country than the Dems. From each other's perspected both seem RETARTED, which they are in some measure, but the Reps have better long term remedies. And also, dont give a bad story of bad rationals, over time, the people can figure it out anyway.
2) I will kill for you. Its called peace through strength. The dems pound the peace table, the Reps pound the war table, both miss the boat, it should be a vigarous combination ALWAYS of the too. Chimpie should invite Xerxes onto a carrier for peace talks, saying if we cant reach a peace agreement, the strike is launched.
3) I made people. The white race is being wiped out as we speak, if you look at long term trends. I am not a racists but killing of a class of babies is similar to genecide, is it not, or is it suicide, I get those two mixed up. Many other race children who could have otherwise advance mankind and their own kind's image, are slaugthered in mass. "The New Fire in Fred's Belly"

An energetic and forceful Fred Thompson sat down with me last week on Kudlow and Company to talk politics and the economy. The former Tennessee senator was in good form -- more animated than I've seen him, and definitely a different person than the one I interviewed six months ago.
I asked him about Dick Armey, the former Republican House majority leader. Armey recently predicted that Hillary Clinton will be the next president, reasoning that the GOP has departed from the first principles of limited government and lower taxes. Armey said budget overspending and the proliferating corruption of earmarks are what led to the landslide defeat of Republicans a year ago. To date, Dick Armey is unimpressed with the circa 2007 GOP message.
And Thompson agreed. He said, "If we don't tend to business we are going to be in big trouble. Pendulum's swinging against us. We are down in the polls. Independents are leaning the other way [where they] used to lean with us. So we've got to . . . adhere to the principles that made us a great party and a great nation."
That was a strong dose of honesty and self-examination. Good for Fred Thompson.
Speaking of limited government and budget overspending, I asked if a President Thompson would veto the $300 billion earmark-pocked pork-barrel farm bill now before Congress. He called this legislation "disgraceful," noted that it wouldn't even help small family farms, and that it would block the expansion of world free trade.
When I asked him about Warren Buffett, the famous investor billionaire, Thompson turned up the heat. In testimony before the Senate last week, Buffett advocated a whole series of tax hikes, such as an increase in the death tax, higher capital gains and dividend taxes, and more taxes on private partnerships, hedge funds, and private-equity buyout firms. Thompson labeled this policy dead wrong. He said Buffett is nothing more than a mouthpiece for t he Democratic party. He argued that the wealth of the government is the not the same thing as the wealth of nations, and that history proves lower tax rates promote economic growth.
And he said Hillary Clinton and the other Democratic candidates are blind to all this. He noted that the top 5 percent of income earners now pay 60 percent of all tax collections; that the tax code is progressive enough; that there's plenty of economic mobility in the country; that for those who have fallen behind, the problem is poor education, not tax rates; and that America is the freest, most prosperous, most powerful nation in the history of the world.
We talked about his controversial Social Security reform plan that would slow down future benefits by indexing them to inflation rather than wages, while providing for add-on private savings accounts with a government match, much like the system for 401(k)s.
Lower benefits? Isn't that the proverbial third-rail of politics? Not according to Mr. Thompson. He said big problems ought to be tackled: "If you can't do the right thing, say what you believe and what everybody really basically knows, why do it? Why bother? Life is too short for the aggravation."
Thompson wants to tell the truth about Social Security and force everyone else in the game to respond. This issue is a real character-building definer for Fred Thompson. No one else on the campaign trail, in either party, is willing to discuss Social Security in such frank terms.
But that's the revitalized Fred Thompson. The more I challenged him, the more animated he became. He simply refused to stand down.
Some people say Thompson doesn't have the fire in his belly to go the distance. I don't think that's true. And I'm not picking or endorsing any candidates here. But Thompson has an honest, clear, straightforward message of economic freedom and problem solving.
Then I brought up the CNBC/ Wall Street Journal debate of a few weeks ago, when Thompson slammed Rudy Giuliani. I asked if he intended to continue to pound Giuliani on the campaign trail. He said, "I haven't pounded all day." I asked, What about yesterday? He said, "Well, we're pointing out some policy differences. [Giuliani] believes in federal funding for abortion. He went to court to stop our bill outlawing sanctuary cities. He's never met a gun-control bill he didn't like."
A sharp-edged Fred Thompson.
Can he win? His campaign strategists told me they are pouring tons of money into Iowa advertising. They see a strong opportunity for a Thompson surge in the state, undermining Romney and inflicting damage on Giuliani. Walking off the set, Thompson told me this election will be about peace and prosperity. And he intends to fight hard.

Well, kinda, but not exactly, its has to more with maintaining the global trade routes and economies.
Lets go back to the time line where, gold replaces fiat. World is getting pisst with their falling FRN forex reserves, the motivation in part for eliminating fiat by UN treaty in the out years. This is part of the confluence.
I have always believe that the CARTEL's action is to suspress the rate of increase in bullion prices, not to cap prices over the long term, nor increases in the price of gold. The rational, dont spook the people with HIGH RATE OF INCREASE. and hence, the short sellers WILL always be in there, screwing with the price of gold.
The problem with counting on the shorties to bail out completely, is that the shorties arnt doomed, and of course rely on FED action, the FED gives hoodwinks to their boys, the bullion banks and commercials for the pending periodic smack down in bullion price, and the shorties cover in advance of rise, and then reload at higher prices, just before the smack down. The shorties arnt going any where, Gold Silver and the majors, (such as CDE is/will be king pin in Silver bullion), and it/they will be a constant struggle up, but that's ok, all it does is provide the slow linear increases, a good thing, rather than the parabolic blow offs, a bad thing, so the shorties effect are temporal, and over the long haul, a very very good thing, and will sustain the rises in PM prices.
So, jump in, cash on the barrow, and hold long term.
ITS A NO BRAINER
